There was a nice, soft wind this morning and I was feeling good – lazily walking around at Jogger’s Park..
And I heard this really sweet voice right next to me.
He was probably 4-5 years old.
“Ma, come let’s play. What are you doing?”
Mom puts down her iPod and says, “I am doing Loving Kindness meditation, beta. You go play with someone.”
“Do ‘loving kind’ (!) with your eyes open like me, ma..
See, I’m loving kind to you (kisses her hand)..
I’m loving kind to watchman kaka, I talk to him when he is sitting alone..
I’m loving kind to the trees (spreads his arms)..
I’m loving kind to that nani (points to a lady). I gave her my hand to hold.. she was climbing big steps.. did you see ma, she was falling…….”
